Eleven Amazing Experiences For 2011

This year started off with a bang and it seems it hasn’t stopped. Let me just recap on my experience.

It’s interesting that this year I’ve done 11 amazing things for 2011; 11/11 :)

First: I took a 3 day camping/hiking back packing trip with some friends up Appalachian Mountains (23 miles of amazing views from mountain tops). I’ve spoken about it here (North Carolina Appalachian Trail Hiking Trip)

Second: being able to hunt this season and camp is a great feeling. I still have access to the 15 acres of land that I had last year and have already put meat in the fridge. I’ve only camped a few times this year, but it’s always a pleasure.

Third: earlier this year I few out to Washington, DC for an underground conference called Underground 007. I went with a great group of guys, Aaron and Rob.  We learned some really cool stuff to help further our niche developments online. Can you say $$$$$?!?!

Forth: Yana and I took a 5 day vacation (cruise) to Cozumel, Mexico. We rented a Jeep and drove around the island where we almost got shot for walking into a sea turtle egg habitat. I’m joking, we we’re almost shot, far from it, but it sounded cool. For lunch, we found this place called “Coconut” which had the best steak tacos I’ve ever eating. They serve it with the amazing habanero and lime sauce, yum! After the amazing lunch, we went snorkeling for the first time. It was pretty cool and I’d definitely do it again.

Fifth: Yana has been dancing a lot during the week so I’ve looked for something to do during that time. I started indoor climbing at Atlanta Rocks recently and I have to say that as a kid, I loved to climb and it seems that I never lost that feeling. Climbing has become a great past time and I encourage anyone to give it a try.

Jet Set BodySixth: I took the Jet Set Body (http//:jetsetlife.tv/JSB) challenge. It’s a 90 day intense workout program. I saw faster results visually and physically with this program. Yana seems to like my results as well. Personally I think it is far better than P90X, so if you’re looking to get shredded this new year, you might want to take a look.  More to come on that soon.

Seventh: I went Kayaking for the first time back in September with a buddy of mine, Dorian. What a rush paddling down some cool class three rapids, though I feel I would want to do it again when the water level is higher. I believe spring is the best time for that. I spoke more about it here (Kayaking Down The Cartecay River Through Ellijay Georgia)

Eighth: I bought an awesome M&P 9mm compact this year. It shoots great and so far I’ve enjoyed taking it to the range with Yana. I can’t wait to break that puppy in more.

Ninth: Earlier this year I took a 5 day trip out to Utah for an archery event sponsored by BowCast. It was an amazing experience. We were at the top of The Bird mountain (10,000 ft) walking down shooting at 3D life-like targets with our bows. I also created wristbands with my new company, Wilderness Bands, for the event (link) that they used for exclusive access. I can’t wait for next year’s event. If you love archery you should check it out (link)

Tenth: oh yeah, I started up a business called Wilderness Bands. I wanted to create something for the outdoor community and I felt making wristbands that have cool sayings on them would be a good place to start. I’m hoping within the following year I connect with many outdoor companies/manufactures that need some sort of marketing gift, like a wristband, for upcoming events to give out. It’s a great niche. I’ll also be creating more personalized bands on the site for sale with cool saying so make sure to check it out if you like to support the outdoors. : )

Eleventh (Last): On November 7th, I piloted a plane for the first time. Wow, can I just say that it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. What a natural high. I’ve been thinking about trying it out for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger and did it. It is something that can’t be explained, you just have to try it for yourself.

So it looks like I had a lot of firsts this year as well. I can’t wait to see what next year brings. I guess it’s time to start planing my 2012 goals. Hmm, 2012…I think I’ll try to experience 12 things for 2012. What do you think?
